Description
Meris Advisory Group is seeking an experienced and credentialed Tax Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) who is passionate about strategic tax planning and providing high-quality advisory services to individuals and small businesses. You’ll play a key role in managing complex tax engagements, ensuring compliance, and delivering proactive solutions that align with our clients’ financial goals.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns

Conduct in-depth tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and business owners

Respond to IRS and state tax notices and represent clients as needed

Collaborate with clients to gather information, provide guidance, and resolve tax issues

Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance

Assist with quarterly estimates, year-end planning, and tax projections

Identify tax-saving opportunities and advise clients accordingly

Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with firm standards
Qualifications

Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification (required)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

3+ years of recent experience in tax preparation and planning

Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws

Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Drake, Lacerte, or ProConnect) and Excel

Excellent communication and client relationship skills

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
